This project situated on the rooftop of a four storey home is overlooking the skyline of Ottawa. Our clients just purchased this house and wanted to completely transform the rooftop into a space great for entertainment and relaxing. Their wish list included; Hot tub, Outdoor Kitchen, Patio flame, Dining Area, Lounging area, Space for storage, Outdoor Television and Speakers and if possible, a putting green.

Starting this project, we removed the existing deck, repaired the damaged roof membrane and built the new deck and patio using adjustable pedestals. As one section of the roof was not being utilized, we were able to push back the railing therefore creating a 10’x16’ space.

With the furniture purchased beforehand we had to make sure everything was accounted for in our design. We divided each space with different materials such as porcelain tile, Azek decking and artificial turf. We also matched the granite counter on the kitchen with the caps on the retaining wall. We tucked the hot tub in the corner, away from the main entertaining area, so as to not obstruct any views.

The terrace is equipped with a couple of free-standing heaters making it more comfortable for our Fall and Spring nights. The terrace is also equipped with a low voltage lighting system including illuminated golf cups. Large containers are planted with beautiful annuals giving the terrace some green life and creating a focal point.

We believe that this project is an award winner because we were able to utilize multiple products creating different spaces within the terrace. Our team’s attention to detail from start to finish has left the client extremely satisfied and able to call this house their home.
